Help for Schools

Hanover Charities’ support for local schools is demonstrated in a number of important and wide-ranging ways.

For some, our assistance is with feeding programs including purchasing stoves or equipment or providing funds for supplies to cook for children.  We have even provided funding for schools to create vegetable gardens, which teaches children about farming as well as provides healthy food for the students to eat.

In other schools, we provide much needed furniture and equipment including shelves for one school library, internet services for another, and assistance with furniture for a classroom.

Though it’s difficult to imagine a school without a computer in this age, the reality is that many schools in our Parish exist with no computer or with only minimal access.  But thanks to the generosity of Ed and Pat Falkenberg and their charitable friends, this year we are able to make an big impact on three schools and more than 1,500 students by providing computers.  The Falkenberg’s celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Round Hill, and instead of gifts, they asked for donations toward the computer project in Jamaica.  Read full article here.
