Over the last 8 years, Hanover charities have been supporting the work of Farm Up Jamaica to help transform conventional Jamaican farmers into sustainable Regenerative Climate-Smart Agriculture. This holistic approach is improving the environment, food quality and livelihoods of people from several communities in and around Hanover.
Together, Hanover Charities & Farm Up Jamaica are creating lucrative opportunities for families and young people in efforts to transform the mindset and work ethics to be able to compete in this drastically changing environment.
With the launch of our “Bend the Tree While it’s Young Project” at Esher Primary School, we are able to identify some key strategies on how to engage the next generation to feed the planet by simply teaching youth how to feed their school.
Our support of the Farm Up Jamaica “Young Soldiers for Food Security Program” at Heart Trust Kenilworth has sparked the beginning of an international CSR program that allows corporations worldwide to carry out their ESG and carbon offsets here in Hanover Jamaica.
By teaching the next generation to farm sustainably, we can ensure poverty is being eradicated while natural resources are protected.
